History
Since the founding of the Tippecanoe Chamber Music Society by Greg Kostraba and Konstantin Jakimow in 1997, the Society has presented six concerts each season, mostly in historic Duncan Hall in downtown Lafayette. The Society also plays an active role in bringing chamber music to the residents of Westminster Village. It has commissioned new works from local composers and collaborates with other Indiana arts organizations. The Tippecanoe Chamber Music Society, a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit corporation and a member of the Tippecanoe Arts Federation. TCMS has become a vital presence in the Lafayette-West Lafayette area and continues to seek ways to enrich the lives of our patrons through the performance of chamber music. Contributions to the TCMS are tax deductible. Although the TCMS pays its artistic director and musicians a modest stipend, it operates on a strictly volunteer basis. Ticket prices for concerts have been kept low and the Society depends on the generosity of its supporters. In addition to corporate sponsorships and private donations, the TCMS gratefully acknowledges grants in past years from the Tippecanoe Arts Federation, the Indiana Arts Commmission and the National Endowment for the Arts.
